Nichola’s early years of dance training included several genres of dance such as: Ballet, Tap,
Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. At age nine she began training in the Vaganova
method at the Russian Choreographic Academy, under the tutelage of Maxim Vasilyev and
Yulia Vasilyeva.
At age 13 she commenced training at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet under the
direction of Christine Walsh AM. During this time Nichola successfully completed her Level 5
exam, Senior level and Excellence exam, as well as obtaining her Certificate IV in Dance,
Diploma of Dance and Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance).
In 2018 Nichola was selected to participate in the Prix de Lausanne, where she received several offers and scholarships.
Nichola is a graduate of both The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet and The School of
Hamburg Ballet, where she also studied Anatomy, Dance History, Music History and Music
Theory. Nichola has professionally trained and performed both in Australia and internationally, having performed with Hamburg ballet and Queensland Ballet.
Her repertoire includes: Sleeping Beauty, Manon, La Bayadère, and Maina Gielgud’s Coppélia, with soloist roles in Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Études and Paquita, and principal roles in Greg Horseman’s Holberg Suite, Paul Boyd’s A Twist of Broadway and Paul Boyd’s Le Nouveau Classique.
Nichola is passionate about mentoring and developing young dancers. As a qualified Ballet
Conservatoire teacher and Pilates instructor, Nichola has a strong understanding of the
symbiotic relationship between ballet and Pilates, and uses her knowledge of anatomy,
biomechanics, sports nutrition and her extensive ballet training to nurture, guide and coach
her students in their pursuit to excellence.
