VCE VET Dance covers the fundamentals of dance training and prepares you for a career in dance with industry-relevant skill and valuable experience. This course is delivered as part of a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS) Program. VCE VET Dance is a pre-vocational course and will prepare you to audition for Pre-professional / Tertiary training as dancer, dance teacher or choreographer.
The course will give you a taste of what the industry is like to help you work out if you want to pursue dance as a career. If you successfully complete this course you will receive a Certificate II in Dance CUA20113 accreditation. VCE VET Dance is available as a VCE subject OR as part of a VCAL program.
The VCE VET Dance program can be completed over two years and commence in either year 10 or year 11. Units will be delivered and assessed in a sequence planned and determined by the school trainer and assessor. A variety of assessment methods are used such as class and performance observations and written tasks. First year is the equivalent of 2 units of Year 11 VCE and second year is the equivalent of 2 units of Year 12 VCE. VET Dance can count as part of your top scores for your ATAR.
