CECCHETTI EXAM INFORMATION
Be prepared
The countdown is on to our Junior and Senior exams. We want to make sure all students feel confident and as prepared as possible as this makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
Please make sure you read ALL of these tiles in preparation for the day.
EXTRA REHEARSALS
PRACTICING
Students who are participating in the exam class are ready and wish to do the exam must be practicing regularly. Students have been given practice steps every week for their exam from the very first class of term, which they need to practice at home.

Could parents please encourage at least half an hour to an hour practice a week (more for major students) at this stage.
Dancers must attend all exam practises leading up to their exam. The second week of the school holidays is a perfect opportunity to do lots of exam practises with your exam music.
Dancers must also be going through and know all the theory required for their exam level. DO NOT leave this until the week before the exam to study as it creates stress and nerves.
EXAM UNIFORM, HAIR AND SHOES
Uniform requirements
- Primary students wear our school pale blue leotard and white FULL skirt and white bow. Matching crossover is optional.
- Grade 1 -2, Lilac. Style no: CL12. Shoestring strap leotard in cotton lycra.
- Grade 3-4 - style no. CL12 cherise pink shoestring strap cotton lycra leotard
- Grade 4-6 - Style no. CL12 in Aubergine. Shoestring strap leotard.
- Majors including progress - Navy blue thin strap leotard.
Tights: Colour preference in 'theatrical pink'

Hair requirements
- Primary: Two high side buns with bows (see below images)
- Grade 1 to Majors: Twisties into a classical flat bun (see below images)
Matching ribbons in hair for all grades - on the comb is only accepted and available to purchase in studio.
Shoe requirements
- Primary to Grade 2 - Leather ballet shoes with elastics
- Grade 3 and above - Leather ballet shoes with ribbons

AFTER EXAMS
ON THE DAY
All students are provided with a white slip of paper with the details of the day and time of their exam.
We ask that all Primary to Grade 2 students arrive at least 45 mins prior to the exam time and Grade 3 and above at least 1 hour before.
The time before the exam is used to warm up thoroughly and practice before going in.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT LATE AS THIS IS VITAL PREPARATION TIME!
