New pointe shoes for 2022!

It's that time of year when another cohort of JOKSOD dancers get to fulfil their dreams and purchase their very first pair of pointe shoes! It is such a special experience for a young dancer and we could not be more thrilled for our students. 

A lot of hard work goes into the preparation for a dancer to get their first pointe shoes. All dancers when they reach Grade 4 level in Cecchetti begin their pre-pointe classes which allows them to build strength and support in their legs and feet to prepare them for pointe work. 

This is a class they are required to participate in for over a year before they are assessed for pointe shoes by their teachers.

At JOKSOD we are also really lucky to have one of our wonderful teachers, Miss Amy, who also works at Bloch when she isn't teaching. Miss Amy is an expert in pointe shoe fittings with the huge selection of shoes available at Bloch, it really is a wonderful day for everyone.
