JOKSOD Pathway Programs 2024!

We've been running our successful Classical extension program for years and now we've expanded to offer a range of NEW and exciting Pathway Programs for local dancers!

NEW for 2024 we have launched the JOKSOD Transition Program (JTP), which is an audition only program for students that are looking for a pathway to transition to full-time dance.

It complements our JOKSOD Extension Program (JEP) and supports the defining and strengthening of technique and artistry for dancers whilst providing skills, knowledge and an understanding of the full time dance world.

JOKSOD has an array of experienced teachers lined up for this program and it is open for students at any dance school, not just JOKSOD! Find out more here!

Our JTP program will also integrate with our new VCE VET Dance program! This program is also available to anyone who wants to do VCE Dance and it covers the fundamentals of dance training.

This course is delivered as part of a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS) Program. VCE VET Dance is a pre-vocational course and will prepare you to audition for Pre-professional / Tertiary training as dancer, dance teacher or choreographer.

The course will give you a taste of what the industry is like to help you work out if you want to pursue dance as a career. If you successfully complete this course you will receive a Certificate II in Dance CUA20113 accreditation. VCE VET Dance is available as a VCE subject OR as part of a VCAL program. Classical Stream

Our highly successful JOKSOD Extension Program (JEP) Classical Stream has been running for a number of years, it’s an audition only program for students that want to take the next step in their Classical dance training.

It runs on a Friday evening after school and involves an additional Classical Ballet class with an industry renowned teacher.

The aim is to extend and enhance a students current dance training and we offer to JOKSOD students as well as students from other dance schools, via audition only.

Contemporary and Jazz Stream in 2024!

We are so excited to have the opportunity to evolve the JEP Program in 2024 to also be including contemporary extension classes every second Friday.

This amazing new program will feature Ben Cure as head facilitator along with special guest teachers from the industry to work on contemporary technique, dance quality, choreographic processes and improvisation techniques.
